F.A.Q
Frequently Asked Questions
The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section is designed to provide quick answers to common questions our customers may have about our water and wastewater treatment services. This covers topics ranging from the source of your drinking water, to how wastewater is treated, to ways you can help prevent sewer backups.
-
What is involved in treating wastewater?
Our wastewater treatment process involves several steps to remove solids, organic matter, and harmful bacteria from sewage. This includes preliminary screening, primary sedimentation, secondary biological treatment, final clarification, and disinfection before the treated water is safely discharged back into the environment.
-
How often does the treatment plant conduct water quality testing?
Our plant continuously monitors water quality through online sensors and also collects samples for laboratory testing multiple times per day. This frequent testing allows us to ensure the water meets all federal and state regulatory standards.
-
How does the treatment process remove contaminants from water?
Our multi-stage treatment process uses a combination of physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove contaminants. These include coagulation/flocculation to cluster particles, sedimentation to settle out solids, filtration to trap particles, disinfection to kill bacteria, and more.
